A great TV at the great price. We paid $2399.00, from Paul’s TV. We bought the #82838 and was upgraded to the #82840 from no extra cost (I think the #38 was out of stock/ discontinued). Many of us ordered it just just before Christmas and it came about 7 days afterwards, which we thought was impressive, in the holiday – Ca(?) to Ohio in one week! It was an easy create and its light weight too. My wife and I easily, although nervously…, lifted it onto the TV “stand”. We acquired (2) blk/ brwn Besta Jarga($99 ea.)Tv set stands from Ikea to put the TV on : both side by side w/o your included castors. This unit is successful and was advised by a TV operator on another Amazon online marketplace review. While it is not really glossy, we think the colour is a-okay, and we are generally picky sorts… I like it much better(looks & feature wise) than the Tech Create stand that Mitsubishi can be pushing, plus the prices are good. I’m sure there’s nicer out there in the event you look…FYI, your Mit TV constructed in/on ’stand’ is for stabilizing just.
We have not done any sort of fancy or complex set up or calibration nevertheless. I’ll update, once we do. Out of the box, the photo is good, but I consider I can tweek the color some and there is a sound callibration that is recommended…There is an mic, included, that is used for this specific purpose. I haven’t read about, or used it yet – will update. The actual 16 built-in speakers sound good, although we are going to probably end up hooking up our surround sound someday. Our sub woofer is currently hooked up directly to the television, so this helps Mitsubishi Diamond Series WD-82838 the idea sound better. I can’t see how “Immersive Sound” will ever exchange rear speakers…
So far my only problem would be the lack of net apps – Absolutely no NETFLIX. This is beyond ridiculous, but it is how it’s, so the wireless Universal serial bus adapter we acquired was a total spend of money – which stinks. Maybe it is going to get used for a new firmware update some day? My advice, save your funds, unless you like Vudu for reasons uknown…At present, we make use of our PS3 pertaining to Netflix but we’re buying the Roku 2 XD. It can be ashame and “BS” that our fresh, expensive high tech TV is so lacking in the actual apps, but now, whats another $80.Double zero… Another complaint could be that the Mitsubishi remote is not backlit : silly, very absurd…The remote’s buttons & features are laid out properly though. Oh, by the way, the ipod remote software is cool, yet redundant and excessive. We have this software on an ipad… “Cute” would be a better description to the iod app (IMO) but I am one of those folks who is yet to comprehend the actual ipod/ipad app fascination which sooo many people have……
So far, it seems like our Kinnect camera works fine on top of the TV(height wise).
Beyond that will, this is one besides of a TV along with a bargain! We obtained a 5 yr. warranty through Paul’s TV with regard to $249 and it included a good surge protector. It is better than what we got on our outdated 72″ Mit and I thought they said this rise protector retailed for 70 bucks. Anyway, we have peace of mind for 5 years. Our previous Mitsubishi, a 1999 product(?)we bought (utilized) 10 years ago, nevertheless works fine : but it’s a dinosaur compared to the new High definition 82″!!! No comparison.
